04/16/07 - My Guardian Angel
I wanted to let everyone know that web was an angel to me. I have known web for 20 years and he has been my friend through all those years.. Always there with an ear or a shoulder to cry on. Web always told me how special i was and all the good i deserved. We usually went to dinner together once a week to talk about things and mostly he wanted to let me know that things would go my way if i just believed so. He really had a way to make me believe!!! I always told web that by knowing him I truly believed that i would be there for someone, to help them and listen to them the way he always did for me!!! I learned alot from him. I will truly miss his stories about his childhood, His time in the service, golfing stories and about his wonderful family. I know that he is still watching over me, with that big wonderful smile, and his great attitude toward everyone and everything. I cant even begin to say all the nice things web has done for me and how many times he has been there for me, I will truly miss him!
I know what God said when Web came to him... It was well done my true and faithful servant!!!! I know that web is happy and in heaven with Mary. My sons and I will never forget him! Kelly, Jesse and Chip

04/12/07 - The best neighbors in the world
We were honored to live across the street from the Websters for 22 years. Web and Mary made us instantly feel at home in the neighborhood. Mary had noticed Bon Appetit magazines in our mailbox when they took in our mail and immediately provided cookies with the accompanying recipe. She loved Web, her family, her home and her cooking. We were touched to see someone brought her famous Pitzelle cookies to Web’s luncheon.
No matter whether we saw Web in the yard or knocked on their door, we were always invited into their home with a smile and a great big hug (plus some special dessert when Mary was still living). After Mary passed away, I knew I’d better feed Web once in awhile or she’d find a way to haunt me. :> However, we suspect that Queenie got more than her share of any “doggie bags” we sent over. Web would happily eat anything you gave him although desserts were always received with even more gusto. We are so happy that Web came for dinner not long before he died. He was fretting about getting his yard perfected and wondering how long it might be before he could play golf again. I do wonder if Paul is right about Mary telling him it was time to quit playing around and come join her. They were so devoted to one another.
Web was always so generous, giving George the key to the pickup just in case he needed it and lending us an assortment of tools. George used to borrow Web’s ladder on a regular basis and remarked once that he needed to just buy one. Web’s reply – “why should George buy one when he had three perfectly good ones in the backyard?” It will be tough to make that purchase now because the ladder seems somewhat symbolic of the long-time friendship. And our yard won’t look near as good without his expert tutelage. Usually all he’d accept in payment was a cold beer and a little conversation so we always loved it when we could reciprocate in small ways. He was so thrilled one year when I gave him tickets to a golf tournament in Castle Rock that a vendor at work gave me. Web marveled at our total ignorance of the sport and tried to educate us occasionally. He was really mortified when we asked what the Ryder Cup was when it was being played in Spain where we were going to vacation. Hopefully, the golf shirt and tees we brought back helped redeem us somewhat!
At least we could talk football together. Web was an avid supporter of CSU and the Broncos and fond of updating us about his favorite plays of the game. He loved watching the games with Paul and anyone else in the family who came.
Family was so important to them. We often heard of promotions, new babies, weddings and other successes. Web and Mary both beamed when they’d talk about their “boys”. We are comforted that Web and Mary will not only live in our memories but also in their children and grandchildren. As Mick was giving the eulogy, I looked at him and could definitely see Web, not only in his face but in his warmth and strength. As I talked with each of the Webster sons after the service, I could see Web and Mary in them. So, Websters, please continue to emulate your parents who touched so many lives during theirs and the world will continue to be a better place.
Diane (& George) Sawczyn
